Over the last few years Thought Bubble and Travelling Man have teamed up to present micro-bursaries for UK-based comic creators. Every year we receive requests from multiple people asking if they can donate towards these bursaries, so this year we’re bringing on a third presenter, you! We will be taking donations for the entire month of May 2024.

The base elements of each bursary will be provided by ourselves and Travelling Man; this is exhibitor table space at Thought Bubble Comic Convention 2024 plus £200 in cash for the recipient to use in any way they wish. Any donations received (less any fees) will go directly into the cash element of the bursaries and will be split equally amongst the 15 recipients.

As in previous years, comic creators can be at any stage of their careers, but must be at least working towards creating comics work. Five recipients each will be selected from the following: Disabled Comic Creators, Comic Creators of Colour, and Trans/Non-Binary Comic Creators.

If you are able to donate monetarily, thank you! If donate a monetary amount isn’t possible for you right now, spreading the word about our bursaries is just as important as it helps us reach creators who might otherwise not hear about them, so please share on your socials and with friends!
