It’s Dragons’ Den meets the Nerve Centre as Tharg the Mighty’s minions slide top talent unearthed from the weekend’s portfolio sessions beneath the searing gaze of his top-name art-droids.
Want to be the next great artist to draw Judge Dredd? Then check out the details below, and take this opportunity to have your art seen by one of the world’s best know publishers by entering the 2000 AD portfolio challenge!
This year we have the ultimate prize – the winner of the portfolio session will get the chance to illustrate a Future Shock in 2000 AD! Join the ranks of the biggest names in British comic books by getting a paid strip from Tharg the Mighty!
Budding artists should view the free sample script on this page, draw their own version of it, and bring their efforts to the portfolio sessions being held at the 2000 AD table* at the Thought Bubble Comic Con on Saturday 15th November. The six best efforts chosen by Tharg himself will then go before the searing eyes of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic!
Many have tried to make it into these hallowed pages, most have failed. But you could be joining the likes of Dave Gibbons, Jock, Mick McMahon, Brian Bolland, and Mark Buckingham, along with 2013′s winner Tom Foster who made his debut in Prog 1886!
Please note: you’ll need a valid Thought Bubble Comic Con ticket to enter this competition which can be bought here. The six best entries and ultimate winner will be shown at a special 2000 AD portfolio review panel at the Thought Bubble Comic Con on Sunday 16th November.
* Saturday portfolio sessions will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis – these (and the Sunday event) are open only to pages based on the script provided.
